This pre-WWII Pea Coat is a fantastic reproduction of those issued by the U.S. Navy until the late 1930’s, and is cut from a heavy 36oz melton wool. The coat features two side entry, hand warming pockets, which have been lined with a brilliantly soft and warming high wale corduroy. The coat itself has been lined with a luxuriously soft rayon sateen in black, a fabric which is warming and incredibly comfortable against the skin.
A protective high collar is complimented with a throat plate which can be easily button fastened across to hold it in place. Speaking of buttons, these ones are the early Naval type, and are mil spec urea buttons which have been branded with the famous anchor and 13 stars, symbolising the first thirteen states of America after its liberation from the English. The brand have also taken the time to perfectly recreate the ‘Naval Clothing Factory’ label, which they have woven from supple cotton, on vintage shuttle looms.
